Head of the Lake Cruise
Enjoy the natural beauty and history of Moosehead Lake aboard a 1914 steamboat with narration of the region’s rich history. The Head of the Lake Cruise departs at 10:00am and returns at 5:00pm. The route takes passengers around the back side of Kineo to experience its sheer cliffs where peregrine falcons are known to roost and continues the entire length of the lake to Seboomook before returning. Continental breakfast and a full turkey dinner are included. Beer and wine may be purchased in the galley.
We accept Mastercard and Visa. Tickets purchased online will be emailed to the purchaser at the address they provide and should be printed and exchanged for boarding passes at the ticket office in the museum. Tickets may also be purchased in person on location in the Moosehead Marine Museum ticket office.
The Katahdin cruises rain or shine. Tickets are nonrefundable unless a cruise is cancelled by Moosehead Marine Museum, in which case please contact us to arrange for a refund. For applicable events: Senior tickets are for those 65 and older, Youth tickets are for ages 11-16 and Child tickets are for ages 2-10. Children under 2 ride free.
Maine state law requires all children ages 10 and under to wear a life jacket – life jackets are available on board. Sorry, no pets, smoking or outside alcohol allowed.
