Located on scenic Moosehead Lake

NOTE:  On Wednesday, July 18, 2018 the Katahdin suffered an engine failure.  We are in the process of assessing the damage and planning for repairs.  We regret that we must cancel cruises through the end of July.  We apologize as we know that people look forward to riding the boat.  Refunds have been issued for online orders through July 31.  The museum remains open.  Questions may be directed to our ticket office at 207.695.2716.  Please check this page for ongoing updates.  (updated 7/22/18)

Katahdin Cruises and the Moosehead Marine Museum offer a glimpse into the glorious days of steamboating and the heritage of the Moosehead Lake Region. Our primary exhibit, the Steamboat Katahdin, cruises daily from late June through mid-October. The museum tells the story of our region’s marine and lumbering tradition with a display of artifacts and treasures. We welcome visitors from near and far to take a step back in time to experience the vibrant and intriguing history of the region.

Tickets for a ride on the Katahdin can be purchased online or by stopping at the ticket office on the day of the cruise. The ticket office is located in the museum.
